The proposed lesson offer
Aaliyah Connelly, owner of The ECT Edit, offers a proposed programme of one-to-one online English Literature and Language support for KS3 and GCSE students in Years 7–11. The draft rate is £35 for a 60-minute lesson, including preparation, the materials used in the lesson and a short next-step summary. Any final quote will state the total payable, including any applicable taxes or charges.
A free 15-minute introductory conversation is proposed to discuss the student’s goals and check suitability. It is not a teaching session and does not commit either party to further lessons. Specific texts, exam boards, times and any additional support requirements are agreed before a booking is offered. No exam grade or academic outcome is guaranteed.
Booking and payment
- A parent or carer makes and manages bookings for students under 18. Adult students can book for themselves.
- Send an enquiry to aaliyah.connelly@outlook.com or use the contact form. Availability is confirmed individually.
- Before you accept, we will send the lesson date and time, duration, total price, video-call arrangements and the agreed terms by email. You will also receive the business correspondence address and cancellation information.
- A booking is formed when you accept that written offer. The enquiry form itself does not make a booking.
- The proposed payment method is bank transfer using details supplied privately with the payment request. Payment is due at least 24 hours before a lesson unless another arrangement is agreed in writing.
- There is no subscription, automatic renewal or compulsory bundle. Additional lessons require agreement. Any future rate change will be explained before new lessons are booked and will not alter a confirmed booking.
Changing or cancelling a lesson
Email aaliyah.connelly@outlook.com as soon as you know a lesson needs to change. Notice is measured from the time your message is sent to the agreed start time. A request to reschedule depends on another suitable time being available.
| Situation | Proposed arrangement |
|---|---|
| At least 24 hours’ notice | Cancel for a full refund of that lesson or move it to another agreed time without a change fee. |
| Less than 24 hours, or a missed lesson | A charge may apply only for reasonable, actual loss caused by the cancellation, capped at the lesson price. We will consider costs saved and whether the time can be rebooked, and explain any deduction. There is no automatic blanket “no refunds” rule. |
| Aaliyah cancels | Choose a replacement lesson or a full refund for the affected lesson. If you decline the replacement, no fee is retained for that lesson. |
| Unexpected emergency | Get in touch as soon as possible. Individual circumstances will be considered fairly alongside your legal rights. |
These arrangements do not restrict statutory cancellation rights or remedies where a service has not been provided as agreed. Refunds will be made without undue delay and normally by the original payment method, within 14 days of the cancellation or refund agreement, as applicable.
Your cancellation rights when booking remotely
For a distance service contract, you normally have 14 days to cancel without giving a reason, starting the day after the contract is made. Email an unambiguous cancellation message to aaliyah.connelly@outlook.com; you do not have to use a particular form.
If you want lessons to start during that period, we will first obtain your express request and explain any proportionate charge for teaching already supplied if you later cancel. You keep the right to cancel until the period ends, unless the agreed service has been fully performed with your prior express consent and acknowledgement that this ends that right. Without the required request and information, the corresponding early-service charge will not be applied.
The 24-hour lesson-change policy does not replace these rights. Where a statutory refund is due, it will be made within the applicable 14-day period.

Online lesson arrangements
A private joining link and the chosen platform will be agreed before the lesson. Use a laptop or tablet with a working microphone, reliable internet and a suitable place to study. Let Aaliyah know beforehand if an adjustment is needed. The final platform and its privacy information must be confirmed before it is used.
For students under 18, a parent or carer should know the lesson time, be contactable during the session and handle booking messages. Please use the agreed contact route rather than personal social media accounts. This is an individual tuition service, not childcare.
If a student is late, the lesson will normally finish at the agreed time. If Aaliyah starts late, lost time will be made up or refunded. If a technical problem prevents meaningful teaching, both parties will try to reconnect and agree a fair replacement or refund for undelivered teaching, taking account of what happened. A technical failure will not automatically be treated as a missed lesson.
The proposed default is no lesson recording, screenshots or AI transcription by either party. Any exception would need a clear reason and a separate agreement covering consent, access and retention before recording begins. Learning materials supplied for a lesson are for the student’s own use and must not be redistributed without permission.
Lessons should remain respectful and suitable for learning. If a session must stop because of a safety or conduct concern, the matter will be discussed with the booking adult where appropriate. Any decision about unused fees will be fair, explained and subject to consumer rights.
Questions or concerns
Email aaliyah.connelly@outlook.com with the lesson date and a brief explanation. The proposed response target is five working days; if more time is needed, we will explain why. The aim is to resolve concerns promptly, including putting matters right where teaching has not been delivered with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in this policy removes your statutory rights.
Etsy resource purchases are separate from tutoring bookings. Refer to the applicable Etsy listing, checkout terms and your statutory rights for those purchases.
Before adopting this draft: confirm the business correspondence address, payment arrangements, lesson platform, pricing and suitability of the terms for the actual service. The address has not been invented and must be supplied before a customer enters a contract.
